Dear Brethren and Friends:
Well I'm just home from the Valley's Annual (You Don't Have To Be An) Officer's Training Conference. Our elected and appointed Officers, Valley Committee Chairmen, Committee members, and Valley Brethren just interested in getting further involved were in attendance.
The Conference was a half day format and a lot new ideas were brought to the forefront. This annual conference is a vital part of our Valley's year. From whence new leaders emerge!
During my portion of the Conference I covered "The Valley and Social Media," wherein I discussed our Valley's Facebook group and fan pages, our Google+ page, our Twitter account (@PhilaScotRite) and of course, "Across My Desk, the Web Edition." To those Brethren making their very first visit the to Web Edition, I say, Welcome!
Your humble narrator is even more humbled this day, as I was paid a compliment that went right to my heart.
A Brother who is a recent transfer into our Valley, attended the Conference today and he mentioned that one of the reasons that he wanted to get more involved in the Valley of Philadelphia is because, he came once to visit and the next time he came back, I greeted him, (as I do all members, candidates, ladies and guests) and I had remembered his name.
As wise man once told me that if you want to let anyone know that you understand and truly care about them, don't ever forget their name. I took that advice to heart and following today's comment by that Valley Brother, I know how it feels! Thank you Brother John Jackson!
So, what's next for the Valley of Philadelphia? Glad you asked!

It's not too early to begin thinking about our 2013 Fall Class!
The Class which has been named the "Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction 200th Anniversary Class," begins on Friday, 18 October and concludes on Friday, 15 November. The Degrees to be conferred during this Reunion haven't been selected, but once they are, they will be posted here at the Web Edition. Stay tuned!
Well, that will do it for this Edition. As always, I pray that Grand Architect watches over you and yours.
Hope to see you this Friday at the Annual!
Sincere fraternal regards,
Steven A. Morrison, 33
