Brethren: Well, here it is, the second issue of "Across My Desk, The Web Edition." I see that we have a few "followers" already and that is great! Spread the word!
I hope this edition finds you and yours well. WOW! We've had some very nice weather the past few days, but the HEAT is on its way back!
I received word this morning that Past Sovereign Prince, Bro. Dale Fera, 32, MSA is in grave condition. As many of you know, Bro. Dale has been very sick lately and is awaiting a liver transplant. He has been in and out of the hospital. Please keep our Brother and his wife, Mary and the family in your prayers. If you would like to have more information regarding our Brother for sending a card or note, please call the Scottish Rite Office at 215-563-1814 or email at phila.aasr@juno.com
We still have a number of tickets available for our Family Life event at the Camden River Sharks on Sunday, June 26, 2011. Our seats are in the Campbell's Field Picnic Pavilion. The day begins at 12:00 P.M. with a half-hour of food prior to the game and an hour and a half of food during the game. The River Sharks are taking on Atlantic League rival, The Road Warriors. The cost per person for Valley members and their families and friends is $12 for ages 13 and up and $6 for ages 12 and under. Make your check payable to, "Scottish Rite Bodies" and send it to the Scottish Rite Office, Masonic Temple, One North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19107-2520. Please be sure to put "River Sharks" on your check's memo line.
Last year's event was a SELL OUT! Don't miss out on this great Family Life event! Come on out for a great day of baseball and Scottish Rite fellowship.
The Masonic Blood Donor Club will be holding a Blood Drive on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Tacony Masonic Temple, 4400 Magee Avenue in NE Philadelphia. The drive begins at 1:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM. Blood supplies are always at critical levels during the summer months. If you are able to donate blood, please consider attending this event to make a donation. Do it in honor of our Bro. Dale Fera, Past Sovereign Prince.
Well that will do it for this edition of "Across My Desk, The Web Edition." Be sure to talk to your Masonic friends about our Valley. They're missing so much by not being a Scottish Rite Mason. Be their hero! Give them a petition! Petitions are always available by going to http://www.philascottishrite.org/valley_petition.htm. Spread the word about "The Web Edition." Everyone can check it out, Valley Members, their Families and Friends, local area Masons, anyone!
As always, I pray the Grand Architect watches over all of you and your families. Have a safe, happy and healthy summer!
Sincere fraternal regards,
Steven A. Morrison, 33
Valley Secretary
